Frost Honor Band Festival

36th Annual Frost Honor Band Festival

The Frost Honor Band Festival brings approximately 260 talented high school instrumentalists from the State of Florida to the University of Miami Frost School of Music for two-days of rehearsals, master classes by Frost School artist faculty, and a final concert. Students are invited following a formal nomination process via their high school band director. This year, the Frost Honor Band festival will take place February 2 and 3, 2018.

This year, the guest conductors include retired Director of Bands at UM, Gary Green and current conductor of the Frost Wind Ensemble, Robert Carnochan who will conduct the Festival Wind Ensemble. J. Steven Moore, Associate Dean at The Frost School of Music, will conduct the Festival Green Band, and special guest conductor, Alex Kaminsky, Director of Bands at Stoneman Douglas High School, will conduct the Festival Orange Band.
