David Rothfeld, B.Ed. '61

David Rothfeld, B.Ed. ’61David Rothfeld, B.Ed. ’61, studied music education at The University of Miami. He credits being in the Band of the Hour as the starting point for a long career as a band director, which later led to a very successful career in the business of music. His started out as a high school band director in Miami and New Jersey, followed by a rich background in business-to-business selling and corporate management. He was Executive V.P. Sales at Gulf & Western Corp. (Viacom), a field Sales Representative for several music instrument manufacturers, and General Manager of Bose. As General Sales Manager at Electro-Voice Corp., he was responsible for a $100k PA donation to the Frost School of Music. In addition, he is founder of Creative Sales & Management, a business training and consulting firm, with extensive experience guiding international businesses in the U.S. and abroad. He was recently appointed “Executive in Residence” with Stetson University to create and conduct a variety of Business Development workshops for students and alumni. He is an invited speaker at many universities on the subject of Careers in Business and Entrepreneurship.
