The Frost Jazz Sextet is the premiere small instrumental jazz combo at the University of Miami. We perform exclusively original music mostly in the hard bop and modern jazz context, but due to the diversity of our influences, many elements of other styles are present in our work.
Formerly the “Bop Brothers” led by Vince Lawrence Maggio, this group has a long history of performance at national venues including the Aspen Jazz Festival, North Texas Jazz Festival, and the IAJE annual conference. In addition, Down Beat Magazine has recognized the group with numerous “Dee Bee” student musician awards.
