Program Description:

This exciting program allows you to collaborate and co-write while being immersed in the art and business of songwriting. This unique experience brings first-hand interaction with Frost Faculty to prepare you for collegiate level songwriting. You will deeply analyze songs and work with each other to create new original songs and lyrics. Additionally, you will learn about key areas of the music business to more richly understand the business of your craft. Together with your peers, you will co-write and form bands with the Rock Band camp students, and have the experience of taking your songs into the studio to create produced recordings. This experience will culminate with a final show.

  • 9-10:05 Lyrics and Listening
  • 10:15-11:20 Music Biz
  • 11:30-12:35 LUNCH
  • 12:45-1:50 PRACTICE/MASTERCLASS SESSIONS
  • 2-3:20 Songwriting Sessions/Producing Your Song
  • 3:30-5 Making the Band

 

Audition Requirements:

  • Students must be in grades 9-12
  • Please submit two video or audio examples of songs you have written with lyric sheets
  • Please list any instruments you play (including voice)
